Which Vehicle Underseal is the best?

On this webpage I have included all the resources I have found on YouTube and other locations that show useful tests of car, van or motorhome rust underseal products. My favorite is Bilt Hamber Dynax UB and the biggest shock was Lanoguard which didn’t do well. Infact Lanoguard was beaten in 2 independant tests shown below by both LPS3, Waxoil by Jenolite and Bilt Hamber.

This will help you make an informed decision about what rust inhibitors and  underseal products are best for your vehicle. Next to each video I will write a summary of the results to help you get a quick snap shot.

One of the most viewed underseal test videos on YouTube with 731k views by the Channel repair Geek in the USA. The man in this video was a big fan of fluid film who did sponsor him and also surface shield who later sponsored him.

Here LPS3 Does very well and in a video further down LPS3 also won a test of 33 different products by the channel Bennets bike social. But bear in mind LPS3 is expensive and hard to get hold of in the UK and does not spray well in a normal underseal gun according to repair Geek. Fluid film did well protecting against rust but washed off VERY easily and be aware the jet wash off test was SEPERATE to the main test not part of it! In our test the fluid film test piece rusted VERY QUICKLY after being washed of by rain!

Next video is a comprehensive test of 33 products by the youtube channel Bennets BikeSocial using a salt test chamber. LPS3 came first and Waxoil by Jenolite came second crushing the competition.  Fluid film rusted quickly and Lanoguard which lasted longer then most of the others still started rusting LONG before LPS3 and Waxoil, Bilt Hamber Dynax was NOT tested in this video nor was Dinitrol which is featured in our test videos further down.

This is my own testing Jason Mobile Rust Doctor 🙂 In this test I wanted to test the best from the 2 videos above and compare the underseal products in the USA to those widely used in the UK.

I included Bilt Hamber Dynax UB and Dinitrol both of which did VERY well. The fluid film test piece did terribly and Lanoguard also rusted very quickly within days but didn’t collapse like fluid film.

My observations were that Lanoguard washed off very easily even on a second test and that included the thicker grease! I was not impressed with Lanoguard! it washed of quickly, rusted within days and when it does stay on its rather sticky.

Bilt Hamber Dynax performed very well, as did LPS3 and Waxoil by Jenolite. Dinitrol did okay but its more like a paint and which I think is more likely to chip and crack. Bilt Hamber on the other hand dries into a type of semi hard wax so when I scraped the test piece it was able to self heel and didn’t show much rust on the scrape line.

In the following comprehensive test including salt spray and a jet wash CRC 6026 and Flex seal came first and second out performing fluid film.

In this test from the USA/CANADA CRC again totally out performs fluid film. I could not buy CRC in the UK.
